Ok i was told by my tafe teacher that KE55's and KE70's are almost the same car but with a different body, so does that mean all ke70 suspension and ae71/ae86 cross members will fit into them?

wasnt sure if this should be in the tech section or not, so move if neccicary.

I thought 55's had leaf springs in the back?

They did come out with 4k's though, like the ke70s

The KE55 had a pushrod motor. Alot of cars were coming out with Over Head Cam in the 80s. So the KE70 stepped up to the mark and was released with "Hi-Cam", almost as good.

School teachers and normal people can give a general idea about cars, and they are half right. Obviously someone on a Corolla forum will have more details.

The KE70 crossmember is too wide for the KE55.

well he's half right, they are quite simular mechanicals, like engines gearboxs and that but the suspension and body are different. a KE55 is more simular to the KE30 than the KE70.
