LOL BENNY!
exact same thing happens on the KE.
Well, it blows them when you put it in reverse.
Thats with the reccomended 10Amp fuse...so i put in a 20amp.
Should probably fix it properly :s
hey, my mate just bought a new car, its an 1985 Corona.
for some reason it keeps blowing the fuse for the rear lights and dash lights? he's changed it many times and also changed the resistor but it keeps playing up. he's going to call the previous owner soon but wanted me to ask here first incase this has happened to anyone else?
cheers

exact same relay kept doing the fuse in my sisters car (not toyota though) (the 10amp fuse titled 'illumination') which covers the dash cluster and rear tail lights (not the brake lights, they were seperate). a new fuse would last for like 5 mins of driving.
tried everything to do with bulbs, and several different fuses,
in the end there were uncapped wires behind the audio head deck, which were contacting metal somewhere. i capped/taped them up and voila! never blown that fuse since.
might be worth a squiz back there.
,macca.
Yep i have had a similar problem in my mates corona.
Put a cd player in and the lights went all whack exactly like you have described. Was just shorting out from the dodgy wiring job on the audio install.
had the same thing when i put a new cd deck in my sprinter.. i checked all the wires in that area and covered up everything, also ran a new ground wire for the deck rather than using the 20+ year old one and that solved the problem
Insert witty comment here....
