Well it would seem i have finally found my ae86... been on the looks pretty much since i was 15 (being 19 now).
Bought the car on the weekend from Pat-Ae86 who has put some very decent effort into the car so far and would have made an beaut ae86 had he kept going. I cant see any rust on the car, it seems faily straight and its painted a good color (supra anthricite apparently).
Was a great price too, i only paid $2500 unrego'd and came with lots of spare parts. The thing was tho that the car was all the way up in Childers (mid-east QLD) which is 4 hours from me... i would say at this point it was worth the trip.

Anyway i will be getting this a rwc as soon as possible so i can register it and just use my ae71 for track days (and the occasional belt). And would hope that i can eventually built it up to being my dream ae86.

Here is the Details about the car, i spose i will update it as i do more things but itll probably be staying faily stock as the ae71 will be the car that gets the good parts to be belted on track (hows that for running against the grain lol)

    SPECS:

    Engine, Exhaust & Drivetrain:

Jap 4age 16v (rwd setup etc)
    Jap T50 (drivers side slave)
    Standard driveshaft and rear end
Jap RWD standard manifold (wayyyy better then the ke's crap trd copy)
Stock size exhaust, very quite... good for daily.

    Suspension:
    Chopped standard springs i think
Unknown shocks, will be getting a close look into it all as its very stiff for what is apparently stock
rear strut brace (came with a front but might put that on the ae71)

    Inside:
    Its a mess...
    Painted inside as well
Some form of mazda seats which fit alright.
    Round steering wheel

    Feet:
Unknown type of wheels... looks like 15x7 +15-20ish
    Potenza GIII's on front 195/50
Some unknown slippery tire on the rear 195/50

    Future mods:

    Hopefully some good suspension setup
Maybe some 6kg springs, some decent shocks... dont wanna do this car dodgy as the corolla is.
Eventually want to make it a very very hot ae86... i would say this would is a good base to start with so hopefully it goes well.

    Here's some pictures:

Door looks pretty bad but its just had light sanding, so a good buff and polish will clean the whole car right up

Complete Jap 86 motor and box with rwd cooling and drivers side clutch slave

My two pride and joy's... lol one having its motor apart and the other one unrego'd rofl

Anyway im gona do a bit of work today to get it as rw as possible, gotta get rear seats in, got some king springs to go in, couple of interior panels and a bit of a tidy up... Also we will be giving the car a good buff and polish so the paint job can really shine.

Hopefully will have the car rego'd by next weekend or something.. if anyone might know of someone that does rw's that might overlook some things on the GC, shoot us a pm, nothing serious, the cars straight, will have proper springs and all interior etc... just maybe some things that might get picked up if the rw guys want to be tossers about it

HaHaHa you and Tom were representing bigtime yesterday man

Got a fair bit of stuff done today, interior looks a bit more respectable... rear seats in, things bolted down, interior bits reatached etc...

still need to find someone to do a rw, but id say it shouldnt be too much trouble to get any normal rw place to pass it

    What... broken and ugly?

lol nah, im hopeing this car has less dramas... definately wont be getting as much dramatic use as the corolla, but i will certainly be attempting to mold it into a fine ae86 over some time.
