    Default DIY Longboard

    make your own Longboard

    all you need:
    big sheet of paper
    plywood +10mm
    powertools
    vanish
    trucks and wheels

to start off with you need to sketch the shape of the board that you want and cut it out
    my design was about 10inches wide x 3foot 3inches long (254mm x 1030mm)

next up pin it to you plywood and trace around the design

then get a jigsaw and cut the design out of the plywood

sand the edges and flats to smooth out any bumps or rough edges

fill in any holes with putty and sand it back

varnish both sides (or paint choice is yours) to make it look nicer and keep water out

draw a line down the centre of the board and mark the holes where you want your trucks to go and drill them out with 5mm drill bit

next up get some griptape, skateshops will have it
lay it on the board making sure there are no bubbles and mark the edges

using a razor blade carefully cut the excess grip tape away

fit the trucks and ride the bastard

on a final note - you might have to try different spots for the trucks to find where it feels right and suggest use 10mm or thicker ply 8mm gets a bit too flexible

I think it will be the goods

Mine was a fair bit longer so to make sure it wouldnt snap on me I glued two 10mm sheets of ply together lol wood and glue came from bunnings for about $20 if i remember rightly.
