    Default instrument cluster woes

    Hi guys
Tachometer on the dash decided to stop working a few weeks ago.
Along with fuel meter and and temp.
Pulled the cluster out today and all seemed to be fine, plugged it back in properly and didn't work.

Speedometer is working and so are all the lights.
coincidentally this stopped working around the same time as I took my airbox off and put velocity stacks on, though I highly doubt this has anything to do with the problem.

Anyone think they know what's wrong?

    Cheers, Iain

I know in older cars such as KE55, the fuel and temp gauges were both powered off a small voltage regulator chip, in the cluster. And when that chip blew, both gauges stopped of course. Not sure if that helps. If could be a main power wire going to the dash somewhere.

    this happen in my 86,
fuel, temp and oil pressure didn't work.
ended up being an earth wire in the engine bay right hand side that was the cause.

as soon as this earth wire was touching metal it all worked.

    hope that helps

    Still no luck with this

Forgot to mention other big factor, the fans/switches in the middle stopped working all together as well.
getting a bit hectik with foggy windows recently

may contact an auto sparky to see if he has an idea if I can't figure it out in a few days

id say your reverse switch wires have melted on the exh. check the 'gauge' fuse behind drivers kick panel.
