Mmm... L series.
Powdercoated?
Looks awesome!
Wrinkle black. The way all L series heads look best. The only thing remotely special about that is that I actually took the time to get all of the pre-existing paint off first, give it a good sand and then spray the wrinkle black on.
It looked a little like this the day before yesterday.
in Japan Charges about $250 for this service, which includes swapping your cover over with them. Crazy stuff. Cost me about $10.

hahah its a GEM engine
was it dead when you stripped it down??
Dad used to work at GEM in the 80's, he says they were fucking dodgy cunts then too. I'm surprised they're still in business.
No idea to be honest. I got the head for free off a mate who was going to bin it as it came as spare parts for his 910. The head doesn't actually look to be in too bad condition other than a bit of corrosion around the water galleries. I pulled the valves out earlier today and de-greased the bare head and it looks pretty darned clean seen in the first picture.
I'm actually only using this head to experiment with some porting, but if it turns out relatively well, I might end up selling it to anyone interested. It's a V91 head, which I've read isn't that great (open chambers), but not completely shit. No biggie if I muff it anyway. It cost me nothing.
i should of done that hrmmmm
