sorry to highjack, but what power figures could one expect from some 264 cams, ITB's and an ECU? for reference, on a jdm 16v.

meridan motorsport in moorabin(melbourne) sell fully built race 4age 20v's stroked with a 7a crank, billet rods, forged custom pistons, worked head(ported, cams, etc), 50 mm throttle bodies and some other goodies for 5.5k ready to go. They have been race proven and produce 205-225 rwhp, reliably.

????,..you said under 8.3mm lift should be ok..but over 8.0mm you need support?? did I miss anything?
    [/b][/quote]

hehe yeah sorry I mean't anything over 8.3mm-ish you need a shim kit...?
and between 8.0 - 8.3 all you should need is stronger valve springs
and under 8mm you should be able to get away with stock valve springs

I'm not 100% sure of these figures but I think they are close,

it would be nice if someone could back me up or correct me....

i believe the maximum lift is 9.0mm, above than that, inner shim kit are required, even if the lift is at 8.5mm u can still use the standard lifter

Don't forget a bigger final drive ratio (at least 4.6:1) to suit your new engine. They make a massive difference. With cams and cam gears, upto around 290 deg cams are still very driveable, i wouldn't go any less. 260ish cams are for people who doesnt want to change ecu. Also, fast NA motors are more sensitive about gear ratios.
I personally think a hard tuned NA 86 is more fun than a turboed one. gl with your build.
