    Default options for lowering ke70

    hey guys
    i got a ke70 just for a daily.
as you would know they sit at a 4wd height. i wanna lower it about 100mm.
ive done abit of a search and read a little on the falcon springs. sounds good option. dont want coilovers because theyll be worth more then the car ands its just a daily.

could you guys give me a run down on what my options are here?
and with the falcon springs do i need to change the shocks?

    cheers

Falcon's are shit house, may as well just take out ye old angle grinder. If you do go this route, you don't need shocks, but it would be advised to make your car half decent.

Find AJPS on the sponsor's section. He can do a sick price on a set of aftermarket springs with spring rates to suit your needs.

    basically there is three options

    a) angle grinder love
    b) falcons + sierra shocks / and similiar setups
    c) good springs/shocks or coilovers

ive tried all three. if you introduce mr.AngleGrinder, it will handle better then stock (ie: shit) and isnt really worth it unless you want your car to look good. Falcon springs are ok... good enough to learn on anyways, but by no means anything great. the whole coilover or decent springs/shocks drill is basically for when you know what you need to do with the car etc...

if its not a dedicated hills runner / track skidder and mearly just a daily with abit of fun, just do the whole cheap setup style. falcon springs $10, and i payed $90 for some new seirra shocks. $100 setup, who cares if you change it 6 months later, its $100. you can sell it for $50 easily.

meh, its how i built my car anyway... It went from a $150 shitbox, road driven equivelent bush-basher, to something that was kinda fun, to something that can be quiet quick...depends what you want really...

yeh im not spenidng much money on it. its just a daily and wet warrior lol. ive got an s14 so that is my main interest.

what year falcon springs do you go for? and what year sierra shocks?
and obviously you use the fronts for the front and rears for the rear?

seirra shocks are crap hey, way to stiff and WAY to short....

the problem with KE's is the front end.

the rear end is easy to get ok. i just have some cut in half AU falcon rear springs (10$) and a pair of commondore shocks (model 343113) which were around 150$ for the pair. (i have 8kg coilovers in the front and this setup is a nice balance)

this is a nice setup, plenty of travel and stiff enough to have some fun. could do with an upgraded swaybar to complete it though (im looking into welding 2 stocko's together....250$ for a whiteline is a bit steap in my oppinion)

now for the front....most decent shocks wont fit, as the strut tube is to skinny (as opposed to the ae86 which is a bit thicker).

but i do belive you can find something, even if it isnt short stroke, there will be something out there that will fit. there was a few guys on rollaclub that found something that worked.

you really need to get "proper" springs for the front though, ones that arent cut, cause they can fall out alot easier than the back ones. you can pick up some 2nd handies for maybe 100$ or so, sometimes cheaper. i think brand new they are about 160 or something, but yer if its just on a budget then search for some 2nd handies.

Agreed that cutties are shit, and falcon springs are no exception... they do ok, read: a satisfactory job for the track....

For a daily, id say go some king springs or something sort... something thats a very soft spring rate and get some good shocks to go... you might end up spending $500 (new) or probabaly abou $200 second hand (depends on who you know) but it would worth it for a good daily...

I love driving a rock solid, loud, and creaky drift car on the streets... but nothing beats having a quiet, comfortable daily

Remove springs. Get 2 blocks of wood. Run screws through both ends. Better than coilovers.

yeh i contacted king springs and the dont do super low's or ultra lows for the ke70. and i think there normal ones only lower the car like an inch. i want afew inches.

might try lookin for some second hand gear.
and can i have some more info on the "coilunders" e7
