Umm just wondering on what stuff you'd need to think about for a brake upgrade.
    It's NOT for a sprinter or KE/AE....
I just need to know how to go about it.
Do any brakes fit any car etc as long as you have an adaptor?
Its going on an 84 charade lol.

Im trying to find out which cars brakes will work.
Ie ST162 celica (ST), AE82 twinky, SSS pulsar? stuff like that.
    Cheers.

theres many factors, the caliper has to suit the diameter of the disk roughly. the right width, clear the rim off the face and outer, clear the strut, etc

also some sturs dotn have plates that unbolt off the struts so an adapter is very unlikely to happen, like a corona xt130 for example

aloo think about the poor old brake mastercylinder, if you chuck some GTR brakes on there, your foot is gonna hit the floor before you start pulling up (exaduration i know but you get the idea).

also if you only upgrade the front, gota think about brake bias, dont want the rear end locking up before the front pads even touch the rotors..

the break bias thing is only really important if you go too over the top with upgrades, but still important to take it into account

what are you putting in this charade to warrant a break upgrade?? got one of those 3clr turbo things?!?!?

Nah just using it for driving in the Hills etc....I mean track days.
And I want to re-build one of the 3 cyl motors for fun, like really worked NA.
Waste of money but yeah...I do that sometimes.

Im just thinking. If i get an AE82 front brake setup (calipers, rotors etc) and some kind of better Master cyl/booster.
    Then an adapter would work?
Maybe I just don't understand brake setups...

3cylinder..? seems like turning a turbo motor back to na would be a down grate but each to there own.

i dont know how much of an upgrade these would be?

maybe ae101 brakes would be better being from a 20v powered car these arnt exactly slow. a heavyer/sports car, maybe twin piston?

I wont be getting a turbo motor.
    2 reasons, expensive and unreliable.
Old turbos would cost a crap load to fix too.
Im going to drive it around, while building a fast motor in my bedroom

Not sure where to get forgies n shit for it.
Dont want to go EFi either.

I always though ae82 twinky brakes were good? I've heard nothing but praise for them.

i had a mate with a charade, and he upgraded all the brakes from a diahatusu aplause, bolt on afair, your better off looking at upgrades from the same manufacture, no point screwing around putting toyota brakes on a diahatusu...

there are plenty of charade forums around, they gonna be able to help you out more than we are

    My god....

I would expect to see dillion mac asking the questions regarding upgrading brakes on a charade, never thought anyone would waste their time, more importantly their money!

You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?
