Fold the metal lock washers over.
Use a very large shifter.
Or use large multigrips.
Or get one of Grandpas witworth spanners and grind it to shape, your very own SST to keep.
anyone got any helpful suggestions on how to remove rack ends from the AE86 steering rack without a SST...?
Cheers
Niz

I took em off just yesterday. I ended up taking the handle off my jack and slipping it over the end of the spanner for max torque/leverage and it came off easy.
or you could use a 30mm or 27mm spanner depending on the brand of rack ends they are.
yeh I got them off without much hassle...
Just have to take the actual rack out now......... easiest way to do this?
Can you get the lock washers for the tie rods at supercheap etc?

You normaly have to buy the rack ends to get the washers. I have new washers here if you need them.
Washers can be bought from Toyota, cost about $2
