keeping in mind that the car hasnt been driven in 2 years
what does it mea? and what needs fixing/replaceing and how much would this cost etc

    I guess something is seized.

Check if the slave cylinder actuates the clutch form in the few mm's of travel that you have. If not either your slave or master cylinder is rusted.

Hey mate im pretty sure ive got a similar thing that keeps happening.
Had a few times on track where in gear the pedel would go stiff and car would free rev... pretty sure its the throwout bearing, however id just give it a good kick and it would pop back in place. i need to get it sorted tho.

What Just half steppin said would be the best way of finding whats the problem.

also open a bleed screw on the slave cylinder and get someone to pump it and see if it goes down. (and fluuid comes out)

if so then you know that the hydraulics are ok.

then there is just the mechanical side of it

it means that the master cylinder is free to move and its probably not hydraulic related

my 86 was waiting in my driveway for a few months waiting for an engine conversion, so wen i finally got around to it.. the engine went in and everything was ready to go.. i got in the car started, got ready to reverse, found the clutch pedal was stuck stiff so i left it.. the next day my dad fixed it.. he sed he just stomped the pedal real hard and it became loose..
