    Default Dave2221's AE86 Thread

    PART 1:

Right, well i am Dave.... just bought this Monaro Blue hachi a few months ago.

i know a few of you have seen it around Sydney, but i now own it, and driving it as my daily.

    From what i can think of now it has;

Full respray, it was stripped to bare metal and everything got a coat of blue.

lowered springs, 17" white Speedy Rims (for sale)

unfortunatly it has the standard diff and no coilovers.

good bits include t50 gearbox and celica front disc brakes.

    MR2 front bucket seats.

20v Silvertop with TRD trumpets, TRD head gasket, VL fuel pump, bigger injectors, EMS computer, stage 2 cams.

only pics i have online are from carpoint (depressing)

thanks for looking, and ill be around in it.

i have a few plans for it, but nothing major... it still has to get me to uni every day.

    PART 2:

got some new pics on sunday and tonight of my engine and my car with my plates from out of storage

    PART 3:

ok, so got the air filters on

also got some SSR mesh rims, painted the insides black..... the gold wouldnt suit the blue car

will get more pics when they are on the car

    PART 4:

    NEW RIMS ON

    no more HEKTIK white rims

    PART 5:

ok so here is the plan

thinking of doing a panda job on it, just like this:

    what do you guys think?

    PART 6:

did some work on the car this weekend

got some black bumpers with a lip spoiler.

    also got redlines

    coilovers to go in later

    PART 7:

    FINALLY

got the coilover in this weekend

had to repack bearings, new brake pads, added braided brake lines

4 weeks, to finally swap out the crappy celica suspension for some decent adjustable coilovers

    PART 8:

did some work on the car this week.

i cracked a windscreen and had windscreens obrien come out

the guy suggested while the screen was out i could paint the metal part of the dash where the demister grill sits, as it was blue (same coulour as car)

i took his offer and stripped down the dash (mush easier done with ae86 workshop manual)

did some paint work, have a few pics of my efforts.

    unfortunatly no before pics.

    strip down the dash:

    mask it up

    the finished job:

another sucessful $15 modification (since windcreen covered by insurance )

    PART 9:

Got some AJPS 30mm RCA's and installed them.
next week swap out gearbox and put t-series diff in

    woo

yeah, i am in the process of making the blue bars into panda bars (the full black ones are temporary)

and i have a levin flip grill to install... .just need a solenoid to run off my ignition to make it open when i start the car.

wing mirrors will also go gloss black, and GT APEX side skirts will be gloss black too
