Everyone I've talked to says stay go with a 2" or 2.5" max. 3" is too big for an NA 4 cylinder. Somonell tell you the technical reasons. Plus itd be really loud.

mm turbo or na still tossing up ideal

but buiying new diff and box aswell??

would be in upwards of 10k all done with 200 rwkw

t series and t 50 wont hold power that well

im quite leaning to mad na power but turbo would be dirty option! can always change pistons later and lower comp then turbo

If you're only going to have a single rear muffler on an NA engine it will be insanely loud.

Simon Michelmore's NA 20V at Mallala three years ago ran a setup like this and it was so loud that I couldn't hear my car at all when I was driving behind it.

3" would be too big too.

There is a fair bit of science involved with exhaust design, to cut it breif no such thing as too big on a Turbo car, but NA is a different story. You go putting a 3 inch on a 1600 i promise you will nearly half your power output, NA engines need a certain amount of back pressure where Turbo you want as little as possible.

I would put nothing bigger than a 2 1/4 MAX on a 1600, as this size is the optimium for a 2000 twin cam also. Anyone telling you any different should do a bit of a research and learn the fundamentals of engine/exhaust matching.

2.25 does my 20v fine. Most of the noise comes from the engine bay, anyhow. The muffler itself doesn't put much noise out.l Im running one muffler, one resonator and a cat.

even if you were to go turbo i'd stick with the 2.5 inch exhaust, you get a little less hp but way more tourqe!!
