    Hi

    I have a KE70 Estate. Its a very late 1985 model

I need to know if the front struts are the same a AE86 items, as I also have a 1980 KE70 saloon and its shares its suspension with a KP Starlet!

    So, I need to know.

will AE86 RCA fit on the std KE70 estate struts?? I know that the top mounts are the same as a AE86 (measured them) even though my older KE70 is different!

    Just need to make sure.

    cheers
    Adam

Not sure about the Estate version but AE86 struts and KE70 struts are different in Australia. So the AE86 RCA's wont fit the KE70 stuts unless your Estate model came with 86 struts from the factory, this is on the Australian version im speaking of, may be different for your car however.

Im almost 100% sure that the strut tops are identical on both the different struts.

There is a KE70 panel van at pick and payless Ringwood Victoria still with struts (as of an hour ago), and yes the calipers differ from AE86.

My AE71 wagon (Estate) has 51mm dia struts and has the same steering arms as the AE86 (same bolt spacing), I've read that these will accept the AE86 brakes provide you use the AE86 caliper mount/backing plate - haven't tried this my self though.
