BT20v is making 300rwkw like i said i would without nitrous so now its time for some spray and see if she will run a 10s or less

what do you consider "your vitals"

im a VDO fan. my dad is a marine elctrician and has been buying their gear for 15yrs+

i have a VDO water temp guage which has served me well

it cost me around $40 for the guage, and about $30 for the sender.

i will soon get a oil pressure gauge, but the senders for oil pressure are VERY expensive (arund 80-90$ for the sender) and the guage is around $40 or so (last time i checked)

thast about all you really need i reckon, all the rest are a bit wank factorish.

please dont spent 100's and 100's of dollars on brand name hks/omori (whatever it is)

VOD is easy to get through repco

    dude.....punctuation!!!!!!!!!

full stops can be used. as well as paragraphing.

    all VDO is electrical.

the guages are very small also, and fit in well with 80's interiours. green back lights and red needles.

heres mine installed where my clock used to go

if i had the choice id be buying omori black electrical oil temp, oil pressure and water temp...but seeing as they are discontinued and near on impossible to find in electrical i rkn ill have to settle for greddy mainly because they are the only other gauge of a respected quality that suits the period...

or defi din guages as ken has, they will be released in a less bling color/lighting scheme soon enuff

while VDO do look simple and period-ish...spending 10k in a engine bay (motor with all accessories), 30+k on a car to rely on a $40 gauge doesnt sit easy

thats all very well...but remember your average boat engine is worth around 12k before you put it in (generally alot more than 12k). note extremely general price there, i just know for a fact that to buy a new engine that is in my dads boat is around 12k for a crate engine from ford lease.

and vdo guages are on lots of boats?

its amazing how the price tag on something often determins its "percieved quality".

and pluss your comparing-ness of prices is a bit silly to. simliar to saying something like "i spend 4k on wheels and rely on $4 wheel nuts to hold them on"

im not haveing a go, just saying price doesnt mean its quality. its what they want you to think
