Youd be better of putting in a ca18det cause of the turbo and cause its considerably cheaper. having a non turbod sr would really blow but thats just my opinion good luck with it.

go 4AGE for sure. the average price for a RWD sr20de with loom and box is around 1500
you would easy get away with a whole 4age conversion for that price.
sr20 is a pretty in depth conversion.
stay toyota.
SR20DE's are pretty decent motors they make alright power and they're very torquey, that said i wouldn't do it.
SR20 is a pretty in depth conversion, however n/a engines are cheap as piss (infact i reckon the box would cost more)..
firewall modifications are necessary, along with custom tailshaft & gearbox and engine mounts.. amongst other things.
i'd thought about this
SR20de seem to go for around $300 per motor so i thought for a grand i'd be cheering...
but word has it they don't seem to work as they don't like to rev and fall off...
i think if you wanted to do one, it'd need cams and cam gears to get a top end out of them...
