Default Can I place my water temp gauge sender here?

    Hey guys,

Just wanting some confirmation as to whether or not this is a suitable spot for my water temp gauge sender. It appears to be a coolant bleed, not sure why you'd have it there though?

Any pros/cons of having the sender here vs off the head or anything?

See pic. - thread to the right of oil pressure sender.

    Thanks

    Yes it's a coolant bleed / drain.

You can put it there if you want.
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?

Sweet as, on closer inspection it seems less than ideal though.

Where else do people put there temp senders? Just tap a thread somewhere?

cut your top pipe and fit a temp sender joiner in the gap. then join the pipe back together. screw it stright in and presto.
can get them from most auto places on request, just have to supply them ur pipe dia. and thread width of the sender.
think i eve saw some on ebay a while ago.

you can in theory put it in there but it will be no good as it will read lower temps there. You need to have it in the top water outer like todd said. The stock position no good?

Haven't found an adapter yet for the stock position. Only really looked into installing this gauge recently so nothing has been open. Just noticed the thread on my sender was the same as the bolt that goes into the coolant bleed and thought it might be an easier way out. looks like I'll just hunt an adapter down for the stock position though.

    Cheers everyone.

Have just been to the local Autobarn and Supercheap. Neither has adapters. Fail. I suppose that's darwin for you though.

Might try enzed or pirtek next week.
