you can use it, it's fine.
until later in the future, one day i'm sure cams will make it required to have a cams approved cage.
however it is a sport where people without rollcages can go in, so having some sort of cage is better than none right?
basically i just want to know if i buy a non CAMS approved rollcage, am i able to drive my car on the track?
or will i not be able to cause the cage is not CAMS approved?
you can use it, it's fine.

well thats what i thought......id rather a cage than none.
i mean a safety21 cage is pretty sweet and i cant see how it would be worse than none at all
A rollcage is there to save your life
They are CAMS approved because they meet motorsport safety rollover requirements
Why would you want to skimp on a grand for a lesser cage when its your LIFE on the line?
dependant on what event you're entering, yeah, you can use it. if the supp. regs. specify a cage for your performance level (i.e. under 10sec. for quarter mile E.T. or improved production racing etc.),then no,you'll fail scrutineering and won't be allowed to compete.
supersprints and open days shouldn't be a problem though.
Justin...
For non cam type of events then yes. AAA sprints, private track days etc. CAMS events will require you to meet all the regulationis
YES as long as the event specifies a CAMs approved cage.
ALL SA drift events don't require a cage of any sorts, but if you have one that is not CAMs approved, it is fine!
BTW...come grab these brakes Huw!!!
AE86 4AGE "Slowly but surely"
Most drift events don't need a roll cage, but thats about it. Other types of motorsport need cages, exactly what specification differs from even to event.
But I agree, they are CAMS approved for a reason, so if you are looking at entering events that may be CAMS approved in the future, or just want to protect your noggin, thats the better way to go for sure.

What am I doing right now? Twitter me!

where can i see the cam specs?
1982 KE70 - Red - Meshies - Madhouse Lip - Lowered - Custom plates (KE70) - and much more to come !!!!
I think the simpleist way of pointing it out is, for the majority of situations, you will only need a cams approved cage if it is an event were cage's are Required. (Emphasis on required)
I run a Safety 21 5 point cage, but thats only gone on recently. Been to qr countless times, for drift events they dont require cages.
It really comes down to what you want to enter as others have said
