Have you got cold start hooked up? It will be a vac leak somewhere in the intake path. Put your hand over the throttle body to block the air flow, if the engine stalls then its a leak in the throttle body region, if it still idles but much lower then its a leak somewhere in the intake manifold.

Check to see the throttle is completely returning.

Auxiliary air valve on the throttle body. There's a wax in there which melts when motor warms up and closes the valve up for motor to idle normally (about 800rpms), coolant is supposed to run through it, but most people don't connect this up. When it's not connected up, the motor will idle at 2krpms+ when warm.

I had the same issue and solved it by welding up the holes which this valve lets the air through in. A little trouble on cold mornings (need to keep foot on throttle) but apart from that, all good.

Don't need to weld up holes, just get a sheet of thick gasket paper and insert between the cold start and tb. Much more reversible when you want cold start back

I originally did that and it still idled at 2krpms so I just blocked up the holes.
