tail shaft out of balance?
Hey guys bit of an odd one.
basically i have this MASSIVE vibration coming from the gearbox kinda area (bit hard to tell). It happens most on decel at about 2500rpm, but also does it on acel at simmilar revs. It has done it for a while now.
have replaced the following parts;
new flywheel
clutch is fine
new box
new tailshaft (i thought this would fix it).
now we are starting to think its the gearbox mount??
any ideas would be sweet!!
cheers

tail shaft out of balance?
na i dont think so cause its EXACTLY the same after i swapped shafts, but maybe.
are you running a 4 link? when i had a 4 link installed the angle on the tail shaft bearing was vibrating alot till i make the angle less agressive
standard links
and car isn't nearly as low as it used to be (just thought id add that in)
i would check engine and gearbox mounts first and then the exhaust.
is the exhaust hanging of the gearbox and does it have a flexpipe? toyotas are bad for vibrations like this esp camrys. it almost always comes back to mounts
even an engine mount can send this sort of vibration thru the drivetrain.
id be looking at gearbox and engine mounts
i bet all the ladies are getting you to drive them round now
if its engine/gearbox mounts, just grab some cuscos...just got some myself...cheap from j-land

yeah firmer engine mounts are nice but if you dont like vibration dont buy firmer mounts
simple but possible, but i have a quick release handbrake 'drift' type thing and it makes a sh!tload of noise at times...
Insert witty comment here....
