Hey, I'm trying to put in a T-series diff into my ae86, I have the S-series tailshaft out, but I need to separate it so I can attach the T-series tailshaft to it.

Problem is, it wont come apart, I'm kind afraid of breaking something, so I'd like to know the proper way of doing things. How do people usually separate tailshift pieces?

Do you mean the uni's? Or just seperating the front half from the rear? If it's the latter, just undo the bolts and it should come apart fairly easily. A sharp hit with a hammer might help if you are having trouble.

Yeah, just separating the two halves, I've taken the bolts off, and its really jammed on there good, I've been giving it a bash with a hammer, but its still not moving. Is there any specific way I should be hammering?

It looks like it would be simple, but it just doesn't want to move, thus my confusion.
