Thread: Wide steelies?

  1. #1

    Default Wide steelies?

    Hey all,
Chasing some wider wheels to use as skidders, but not really keen on spending coin from japan at the moment.
So, my question is, is there anything out there, be it toyota, mitsi, nissan, in a stock steel wheel, that is wider than a 6 inch, in a 14 or 15 inch diameter?
Not too fussed about offset, bolt on spacers can sort that, just chasing something as wide as possible.
Even if they need to be widened.
    Cheers

There's a company up here (brisbane) that sells just the outer bands... (Race engineering)
Can get 8 or 10 inch wide in a 15. Think the widest you can get in a 14 is 8.
Just gota find some wheels with the right sized ceters to remove and weld into the new bands...

Either way they buy the bands off of ROH so you should be able to get them anywhere really..

just use stockies. they light up easy and you can get tires cheaply.

if you want cheap but also have performance in mind get some 15x8 challengers. theyre cheap and 15's have they biggest range of tyres available for our little cars

family friends races sprintscars here and states, was looking through his ordering catalogue and asked him about them as they were soooo cheap, he basically explained that after couple of bumps on the road they be ruined.

The reason they work on sprintcars is that they dont have all that much air pressure in the tyres and the the huge sidewall helps impacts aswell, also the tyres they use have no thick rubber/steel belts/sideswalls/tread like road tyres so they basically collapse on themselves when not on a rim
