excellent idea 741!!!
OK you know how wide your wheels are, but you want to know how others compare... and more inportantly if they will fit/need mods.
this link tells you how much closer the new wheel will be to your strut (i.e. work out if you need to run a spacer and what thickness)
Also going to more negative offset - works out how much further new wheel will protrude than old wheel (i.e. to flare or not to flare)
I'm sure someone will use a standard wheel 13x5.5 +27 and give you strut and guard clearances.
Lets get a database going with what you use: wheel size & offset, tyre size, std/coilover sus, flares/spacers and relevant front/back clearances.
*E7 or 86
Also a quick reference table relating back-spacing, width and offset:
**1" = 25.4mm
excellent idea 741!!!
Used this before, definately useful for offset noobs, +repz

ah ok that would be good, im pretty shaw your only allowed to go 2" bigger from factory ( to fill out engineers report)
i know this is an old thread but does anyone else think this should be stuck?
Shit yeah, make it a sticky, very helpful.
Regarding clearance:
On the front of an E7 with Corona arms (+10mm track) and ae86 power steering arms, the minimum backspacing that can be run is 4" when using a 185/60/14 otherwise the tire will scrape on the inner chassis on full lock.
So without a spacer, you'd be looking at;
- 7J in a 0
- 7.5J in a -6
- 8J in a -10
- 8.5J in a -16
offsets are slightly less than for the specified backspacing due to tire stretch making a bit more clearance.
