*scroll a few posts down for new pics :2thumbs:

Well before i had the i drove this to high school. while it isnt the best looking hachi it came with a recently rebuilt 4AC, new clutch and master cylinder, webber carb and custom header, piping and muffler. So even though its a cosmetic wreck, its in good mechanical condition. it s a 1984 (zenki..?) Toyota Corolla. the codification says AE85 on the door well, and AE86 on the engine bay. if you just read that and had a wtf expression on your face, youre not alone. it has a 4AC so im sure its an ae86, since ae85s had 3A-U. or it could be a hybrid. anyways...

here it is, just after i bought it: (excuse the crappy digital cam. resolution)

yes. i know it looks like crap. well, after i saved up some cash, i got the front bumper (eh..bar..?) straightened up. Fixed the headlight's relay and wiring, patched up a LOT wiring that was missing. And with a budget of $40 bought some filler and (brown) primer and got the whole car evened out ...except the doors. i didnt do those cause hachis over here have a major door rust problem. the bottom edge of the door is irreparable, by means of clean shaved work. ive heard about rivets, welding etc. but NO. not on my hachi. Since they ceased importing the replacements im screwed for the moment  until i can find hachi doors to complete the job.

heres the almost evened out hachi:

    pic of the interior:

The interior is a mix of blue upholstery and beige/maroon dash and panels. wtf!? i know. well it did cost $350.
small gt wooden wheels and shift knobs were very popular here in the 80s as were those 5 spoke rims. again, excuse the crappy pics resolution. and another thing, while this car looks like crap, it is actually faster than the white coupe. lol. in the future it will be painted black, to contrast with the other hachi i own.

3TGTE is the motor you're thinking of.
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?

    NEW HIGH RES PICS!!

    Interior

that little wooden wheel makes the hachi feel like a go-kart on steroids.

i came home for winter break and was happy to find it in good working order. as you can see form the "two-tone" in the door, my bro started taking care of the door rust problem. i was given some not-as-rusted doors by a fellow mil6 owner in the south-east, now i think i can get it prepped for a re-spray... which ill do myself with help of my brother :2thumbs:
also, i might take into consideration a cheap levin conversion (done with '87 fwd corolla fenders, grill, markers and headlights, '88-89 tercel bumpers and hood) since the headlight relays got buttraped <_< . im tired of manually raising them at night... but somehow im just not the type of guy that would leave his pop-ups up all the time.
