thats a good idea, already I have more than a few times given various FAQ links

I have been put off writing any article for a little while because I was in the middle of a good surge tank/fuel surge article when my USB drive got lost..

ah man I started and finished a new article and I thought it would take about 20 min to write but it instead took something like 3 to 4 hours, damn!!

this I hope will stop the perpetual questions asked in forums about this also maybe inform people about a few things they didnt know. I hope I got it all correct in my info out of my head.

Could someone proof read it for me though I am rather understandably feeling rather stuffed after all that.

Good work on the 20valve thing. Maybe you could list the full specs of the camshafts, plus the lobe centre angle of the inlet cam, and how it changes with VVT.

    Other topics to cover:
What do I do if my ECU is not using the VVT?
Is this a interferance motor, and what size cams would make it so?
What port is best to use for MAP signal?
Picture of silver/black pistons, and where to buy replacements?

jonny: while those ideas are good I think most are out of topic for an article about comparasins between the two engines. With the exception of a picture showing both pistons, as that is something I was plannign to add amoung a few other things.

Also I need to find out the answer to all those questions myself first!

well I bypassed the math function because it was broken and instead did all my formula in wikipedia, took a screenshot, edited the pic, saved it and then just posted the pic in my new guide on our wiki. Slow and painfull but it looks good I think.

Anyhow I stayed home today afterall and I have spent ages writing this article:

it was real hard to write, but its all there:

if you change your head, bore your engine out, stroke it whatever... this will show you how your total static compression ratio will change. Well that is assuming I am right, all I started with is the inital formula and the rest of the article and formulas I worked out myself. So no promises its right (if I am wrong my new engine goes boom! hehehhe)

I don't expect anyone to check everything but could someone see if my grammar is ok?
