have you looked into/are you using High Dynamic Range processing shiri?
the burnt out sections of the bridge could benefit from that process if you dont already know about it.

although it does look like u have applied it there anyway

It was a really hard photo for post processing because you've got such little light directed to the top of the arches of the bridge but then you've got downlights focused on a reflective timber. In an film dark room you'd dodge that area but I'm not that good in photoshop to not make it look altered drastically.

That's a single shot... I never develed into HDR! As cool as it is I think it's a bit of a gimmick... I prefer au-natural lol

    One more for the compliments

    oh ok fair enough.
i only use film so im all for keeping the au natural look lol.
dodging would only make that area worse anyway cos the neg would be burnt, you would have to burn it and try and bring the detail out, but meh haha. working in opposites does your head in sometimes.

however theres plenty of ways to shop that deck and make it look normal, u can even hdr that particular point and make it look reasonable, but fair enough. i hate photoshop too lol, just thought it might of been something u could have looked into.

Been so long since i've taken normal photos. Was just mucking around this arvo with the 50mm and blasting my flash every so often. I know the one of the canon is oversharpened blah blah. I need to give it a clean and do it again.
