    my 4age is overheating,

i've replaced the thermostat not long ago, an oversized radiator,

the temp gauge creeps up to 3/4 (today it almost got to the red :|)

when you rev over 4 or 5000 rpm the gauge dramatically drops to 1/3 then creeps up again

the bottom hose is cold and top hot as fuck,

would this sugest a waterpump problem??

if u dont bleed the cooling system properly after replaceing the thermostat u could have air bubble trapped around the t/stat in which case it may not open as it has to have hot coolant around it. this may be your problem?

i had the exact same problem with my ge would cool down when reved then heat up at idle after 2 genuine thermostats later and 4 radiators and 2 temp sensor switches i put in an aftermarket guage gets up to 7o deg and stays there, standard 86 dash guage = faulty!!

doubt a air bubble would stay there for a month,

    theremostat is in correctly,

gauge may be wrong but the bottom hose stays cold and it almost boiled today pushed fluid into teh overflow,

plan of action is replace thermostat again, waterpump,

    see how that goes,

Do your water pump. If it still gets hot over heat. Rod your radiator or recore if its stuffed. Still over heats. get a TK test. This is when they put a chemical fluid thing over the radiator where the cap usually is and pump air in, then it mixes and if there is any fumes it will change to the specific colour
