(copied from my toymods thread, coz I'm lazy)

well after owning the celica for exactly a year i decided to "trade up" to a corolla wagon. the car came from a wreckers so wasnt in the best shape, but it looked good was manual and could fit stuff in the back....

i picked up the car september some time, driving it home on the celica plates , and convieniently the fuel filter desintegrated a few kms from where i picked it up....fun. after finally gettin it home work began on fixing rust, and the usual worn out parts for RWC.

the list included: lots of rust, brake hoses, seat belts, tyres, air box/filter, battery mount...a few other things as well (can't recall).

with 20+hrs of uni a week and $80ish coming each week from my one day of work it took me the best part of 2 months to get it all sorted. finally got rego on 1st oct!

was loving having the wagon, and a manual...a little too much perhaps?

2 weeks after getting the car on the rd, had a little late night scuffle between the left side of my car and a gutter....the gutter won. i like to think i caused some emotional damage at least. in the above pic, there a few degrees of positive camber, toe out and a bent stub axle (which resulted in a siezed brake). lets just say that it pulled slighty to the left after that.

so once again i needed to take the car off the road to fix it. this time i decided to overhaul the entire under carrage, brakes, suspension while i was at it.
    -polyurethane (sp) bushes throughout
-ra40 front struts, brakes, LCA, toe rods, castor bars
-chopped ae71 springs (for the time being) to test ride height
-added flipped leaf to the rears, and reset each side
    -ma61 wheels on the way

after another month off the road the dori wagon is again running, so i figured i put this up before it went off the road again....

    future plans:
    -ma61 front seats
    -flared guards
    -custom front bar/lip
-researching 4a carby-turbo setups (coz I'm alternative and shit)
-fix rest of the rust i missed and respray
-bigger front sway bar, custom rear sway bar

    cheers,

the height is perfect at the back a touch too low up front but doesnt rub (after i took out a few bolts that held in the splash guard, and wound the castor back). looking for some short stroke insert for the ra40 struts atm, heard that gt4 celica ones will fit.

    few more words on spec:

    198XXXkms
4ac, t50 running fairly well? (havnt driven any others to compare)
    tacho dash
locked diff curtiousy (sp) of garage hokin/wesley engineering.
replaced plugs, leads, dizzy cap, rotor button, points (when i get of my ass).
torqued head bolts, all new fluids (brakes, clutch, eng, diff, g/box), new soft lines
old school saas drift wheel, need a new one.

stay tuned for more mods as i am working lots now. 4 months of uni holz!!!!!!WOOOOOOOOOOO
