MK3 Supra will be your friend here.
yusm as per title.
chasing a strong diff (DOESNT HAVE TO HAVE LSD's AVAILABLE)
to put behind a ca18 in a sproontahh.
looking to put coilovers on the ends of the diff aswel if that means anything.
show me what ya got
obviously brisbane/sunny coast/ GC only please.
cheers, blair.
PM me your phone no, if you can find a hi-lux diff i can swap mounts and get stud pattern changed and other stuff. You will never break a hi-lux axle 30 spline, just a tad heavier that`s all shouldn`t matter that much with more power." Do it once do it right". Cheers Mick.
shall let you know how i go...
if i were to go wrecker hunting...
what am i looking for??
ANY hilux diff? or are there certain ones i have to use...
how can i tell the differences between diffs?
Here`s some part numbers to help you out
F SERIES IS 7.5 IN
G SERIES IS 8.0 INCH
now for the next 2 digits these relate to the ratio
07=3.9
08=4.11
10=4.375
14=4.875
25=4.556
28=4.3
29=4.1
31=3.9
38=3.42
43=3.56
54=3.9
66=3.07
ok now the last number
2= 2 pinion open centre
3= 2 pinion lsd
4= 4 pinion open centre
5 = 4 pinion lsd
these are available in a variety of vehicles including tarago ,hilux and landcruiser
so armed with these codes you can find the hilux diff that best suits your needs
I hope this helps if not give me a yell , there are Toyota wreckers here on the coast also a hi-lux wreckers at Chindera just past Murwilumbah, NSW.
cheers for that!
yet another noob question though...
where can i find these codes??
are they imprinted somewhere on the diff housing or something??
EDIT:: p.s. do i want 2 or 4 pinion?
4 pinion lsd, but i would suggest you aim for the F and it is lighter than the G.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (winslow @ Dec 6 2007, 10:16 AM) </div>Codes are on the ID plate on the fire wall in most case's.
Will say something along these lines:
Trans/Axle W55/F292 etc.
