    have been trying to remove the black rubber strips on the side of the car and its been a real bitch
    the pin stripes came off with ease and left no marking but now i have ripped off the black strips and there is all this rubber stuff that isnt coming off!! :rant:

    i have tried petrol and that does fuck all, was hesitant to try metho but did it anyways and still nothing.


    any help??

    There's some special solvent that I always use to get rid of old stickers and stuff, eats away the glue super easy and just peals off. If that shit doesn't work try using a Hair drier to heat it up then scrape it off, GENTLY other wise bye bye paint.

    If all else fails and if your paints fairly mint just wet rub that shit off and go get a can of touch up paint mixed up from the paint code in your engine bay VIN plate.

    i tried heat gun but sort of seems like its making the rubber stick more...

    Try some citrus solvit.

    Work on the tar left from the sound deadener in mine.

    Was about $14 from Repco, but you can get it from Mitre 10 for cheaper i think.

    That's all it says on the container but yeah works well for me. Maybe try some hardware stores as well, hope that helps.
