    Default 4agze+T50

hey i have a 4agze with an sc14 charger on it with a jdm t50 box iam just a bit concerned that the gearbox wont hold up the gearbox at the moment seems all fine just wondering if anyone else is still using a t50 with either a gze or turbo setup and if they have had any issues?
i use the car as a daily and hoping to get a few track days with it nothing serious

    cheers

Most people running 4AGZEs are still using the T50 gearbox. Operating it with mechanical sympathy will prolong its' life, however you should consider that it is having more torque fed through it then it was ever designed to handle.

Failure is inevitable, but treat it nice and you should get a good life from it. You'll know when its' on the way out. Shifts will get crunchier (especially 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd) and whines will get louder. 2nd gear is usually the one which goes. When this starts, i recommend you start obtaining the parts for a W5x gearbox conversion, especially if you are considering upgrading to a 4AGTE.

Also please use punctuation in your posts, there isn't a single full stop in there.

itll be right mate. keep power below 200hp and just double clutc h+ rev match and youll never have any issues.

you can break a t50 with a 4ac is you dont know how to shift.

yer i have not got the motor dynoed in the ae86, but i had the motor in an ae92 which made 160hp atw so should be making a little bit less witht he 86. I do try to take it very easy on the gears. Just wanted to know if it is really nessassery to go W5x box

    cheers

I am running an sc12 with a nevo pulley and T-50, I usually buy a few and keep them as spares, but I have never really literally blown one, jsut the synchro's start to wear out a fair bit and get harder and harder to select gears.
So keep a few spare and you will be right

Use an organic H/D clutch it will make it last ALOT longer than a button clutch or other aggressive clutch.

mine lasted in my streeter with a heavy ceramic cluctch for ages 130kw never made a sound then one day during a very conservative gear change detonated lol. It will die but may last for a long time, if you want to be confident do a w5 convo

Also losing the synchros in a box is no sign that it is going to break. I used a synchroless T50 (and 11psi 4AGZE) for over a year before it gave up.
