That sounds ok. As long as the nylon does not compress and cause the strut top bolts to come loose. In that case the spacer would have to be aluminium.
Ok so i have a problem that is well known.
Currently running s13 front end suspension in my 86, when i got coilovers i wasnt aware you need base adjustment other wise they would b too short, so now i stuck with a car that hops all over the road.
Does anybody see a problem with putting a decent size hard nylon spacer inbetween cambertop and strut top?
Then i can lift it up with that and lower the spring perch down so i can get some suspension storke.

i got s13 gear with cst coilovers, 8 kg springs, cusco strut brace, j racing camber tops, s13 lcas.. with 15" wheel and tyre setup and dont seem to have any of the probs your saying you have...my setup works really well especially with teh 280mm rotors and calipers....

Skin- what do you mean "hops allover the road"?
how far do you have the spring seat threaded up? ie how much have you compressed the spring from free height in order to achieve a usable height?
maybe get some longer springs made up? or use a helper spring?

I have to have the spring perch right up cause the coil over is too short, im talkin right right up, therefor there is no stroke, the spring will not compress more than like 5 mm lol, so if a space the car up i can lower the spring perch down then the coilovers will work properly
hmmm this nylon is hard as a rock but lol
wat s13 gear have you exactly got and spring details and ill get my spring details tommorow might give you any idea...
its not the spring and theres nothing wrong with the coilover it just dosent suit the car
Its a 8kg cusco zero1 coilover
Main problem, non base height adjustable
ah ok the cst one have base adjustment...not sure where it was bought thou
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Skin @ Dec 30 2007, 11:20 PM) </div>interesting you say that.
with my setup i have base adjustable JIC coilovers, which are VERY VERY short base adjustable
when i had the springs that came with it (11kg 200mm) i had to wind the base right up to the top in order to get usable height (im talking the top of the thread, had to use a tool to wind against the spring tension)
any my car drove perfectly fine, i had had the coilovers rebuilt (very expensive exercise) so maybe that had something to do with it, your shock absorbers arent stuffed are they?
