anyone?
Im trying to install my LSD. After pulling the axles out i tried to put one into my LSD but it didnt fit, i counted the teeth on the LSD 22 and the axle has 23 its in a S1 T-18. The previous owner said that he put tarago axles in but i just thought they must have been a direct swap. Can anyone tell me whats going on???

anyone?
Just re-read. And realised that maybe the previous owner whacked an E series diff in the rear.
Hold on, did you buy it from a bloke called Aaron from down in Vic? Or could it have been built down in Vic at some stage (~5 years ago)?, if so I may know what's going on.

Umm im not sure i bought it from a guy up my way in Kempsey. He had it for a few yrs so im not sure where he bought it from. But it is still in original yellow with brown interior if that helps???
What axle housing?
What diff center?
What LSD?
Disc or drum?
What car?
Tarago axles are not a direct swap into any Corolla.
Its a S1 T-18 Car with S1 T-18 Diff so therefore drum brakes.
The LSD i have is second hand from kona kid and was told that it is a Zenki TRD 2 way.
The previous owner metioned to me when i bought the car that it had Tarago axles and being a major noob when i bought it i didnt take much notice just thought they must have been used because they are a direct change over.
you probably need to count again, all t series axles and e series have the same spline count.
zenki t series is smallest, about .5mm bigger is e series, and kouki t series is 1mm bigger than zenki t.
also, the splines themselves are thicker on the e series.
anyway, sounds like all you need to do is get any pair of axles from a t18/ra40/ra60, celica ones will need to be trimmed down a bit.
78's
Counted again and its definatley 23.
I pulled axles out of spare T Series 1 i had has 22 and fitted into LSD fine.
So have no idea what diff is in the housing it has 23 teeth and the T series crown wheel and pinion fits it???
Reason I asked is I knew a guy with a T18 drifter from down near Geelong (with various motors including an 18RG turbo through carbs and a 253). He'd pulled an E series centre at the wreckers and said it came damn close to fitting his diff.
So with a die grinder he enlarged the hole in the front of the diff by 2mm on diameter so the centre would fit in there, then had to redrill the 10 mounting bolt holes since they were all 1mm further out. Once done he could bolt the E centre into his T18 housing. then needed to add E series axles because of the spline difference. But apparently it all worked in the end.
So I reckon either someone else has pulled that trick, or possibly, though maybe less likely, it's an entire E series housing

Finally got onto the previous owner.
He has done exactly what "ken may possibly be a nut" said.
Thanks for all the help much appreciated
