put a 4age in it
hey guys my mate has a corolla seca that has the 4A-FC twin cam carby motor. he wants more top end power and has $1000 at the most to play with... what can u guys recommend?
cheers :2thumbs:
put a 4age in it
Depends on how much money he has to spend. A set of 4 - 1 extractors with a 2'' exhaust, a reground cam and a 40mm carby(or just re-jet the standard carb) would give him a noticeable increase in power for significantly less than an engine conversion. If he plans on keeping the car for a long time and spending more money on it, then a 4age engine swap would certainly be smarter.
I put a set of Wildcat extractors and 2 1/4 inch system on my 4A-FC, also put on a K&N Panel filter. The zoorst was about $500 and the filter $100. It definitely made a difference and from 3500-4000rpm onwards went pretty good.

wouldn't it be possible to buy the whole fuel injection off the other version of the engine and slap it all on? I would think it would be cheap to do too
30kw club
buy a twinky
my old ae95 with a 4afe runs out of puff at 5000rpm, good 2000-4000... otherwise a decent daily motor
30kw club
you can actually buy 4age engines for around 1000-1500 and put in yourself. why bother with a 4ac?
if you cant do it yourself and need a mechanic who chops arms and legs off for installation then your better off saving that 1000 bux and save another 2grand.
just let it breath
Open her up a bit, the extractor + pod idea I reckon is a winner
Twin cams need to breathe, no matter what angle the valves are at or the induction system. The best part is, its normally cheap to do that work and enjoy the results. I'd also reckon a good service, clean and tune of the carby will do wonders, and overall should fit within his budget
4AGE is here! Cheers 44GTE and Anthony for your help! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/fo...ad.php?t=10384
