Well, I've spent some hours on the forums now, getting to know you all (kind of, at least )
But I'm wondering where I can track down some info on the AE86, so I can know "more".

I'm still a baby in comparison to all you guys when it comes to knowledge (having to know "lots" before you buy a ae86 - - different models etc etc)
    so I just wondered...

    1) How did you start finding more information about the AE86 in general?

    2) What links would you recommend I check out?

    3) Any random misc tips you might have to help a newbie out on a long path of learning...
I'm sure you weren't completely in the "know" from day one... and if you were to give advice what would it be to a beginner?

I've used the search function of the forums but couldn't really see a starting out topic of this nature

I appreciate all the messages I have recived in the past, and I hope you can share a snippet of wisdom from this thread.
To be more specific, I'm just trying to find out about ADM's / JDM's in general -- not really focusing on drifiting or suping up the car...
Just trying to grab a few links with run downs on stock models & stuff like that.

    Cheers & Beers!
    Mikkas.

go to and look at their tech info to learn about engines that can be used in an ae86 (limited to the 4a series but plenty of info). join the forums their to learn more.

with time comes knowledge. just do some reading. with our tech info section read threads where people ask questions. our members give answers. even if its not a problem you are having it may help you in the future

When you start playing around with one of your own, and have friends that own one as well, and talk on forums and read all topics, you will start to gain a good knowledge of these things.

But, a good source of information seems to be when you type AE86 into wikipedia. That's not bad.
