Default my turbo smallport plans. what you think?

hey guys im in the process of freshening up the smallport 4age i brought. i plan to rebuild the bottom end with standard crank and rods then some acl race series piston, rings and bearings. i just plan to rebuild the head to stock(maybe some port and polish???). i am thinking about getting the block o ringed with a copper head gasket to ensure no problems. i am contemplating running a bigport tvis manifold as i heard somewhere some people run them to help bottom end power with a turbo set-up. and finally running a t25g. un sure what ecu to run i was thinking about a razorback one but cant find much info on them. what boost to run??
anyway let me know if my plans are on the money or not.
    cheers

big port mani wont fit small port head so scratch that. dont even worry about o'ringing the block either. just machine all th surfaces and then run a quality headgasket. wouldnt worry too much about the head either, just make sure its in good condition.

as for everything else.. go for it.

your motor will handle whatever boost you want to run.... its all in the tuning as to if it can hold together or not.

but that said. the T25g is shit and wont do much more then 14 psi without falling apart and even then thats right on the edge of the efficiency map.

no i dont think its really worth using.

the t28 bush turbo (as found on ADM s14's and s15's) is still a good turbo and can be had for quite cheaply these days.

There was a group on ebay (that sells MG parts of all things) that were able to do the ACL forged pistons for ~$700

And i think your setup sounds good. Standard crank and rods are great, and the pistons you want to use can take a hell-of-a-lot of abuse.

    Don't bother with the O-ringing

And also (as simon said) T25/T25g's are shit. T28 and upwards thanks.

Boost depends on your turbo. No point running your turbo out of its' efficiency range. I.E. Don't push any of the standard T25/T28's over 15psi, the power gains will be minimal and you will just stress shit out.

Although if you go a 'better' turbo, things might be different.

    Your engine should handle 250rwkw.
