Thread: Blake's slow AE86 Buildup

I've had this car for nearly 2 years now, so I figured it was just about time to throw up a thread about it.

Was bought as a dead stock ADM, with super cool fog lights.....

    Which didn't last long:
    <div align='center'>[attachment=22943:IMG_1127__Large_.jpg]</div>

I then started to modify it:
AJPS 6kg/mm front, 4.5kg/mm rear Springs
    KYB Excel Short Strokes
    Whiteline Adjustable panhard rod
I also scored some MZ10 wheels & MA61 seats cheap off rthy

    <div align='center'>[attachment=22944:100_1346__Medium_.jpg]</div>

The car has been this way for ages, with the only other changes being attacks from multiple kangaroos and a subsequent resprayed bonnet

Over the holidays I finally got some more money together and rebuilt a bigport 4age. Which should be going in over the next week or so

Its just a standard rebuild with ACL Rings and Bearings, I've also had the head checked over and rebuilt. It has an Exedy Heavy Duty Clutch and Kaizen Garage TRD copy extractors.

Currently I have the old 4ac out, and the 4age ready to go in, I just have to finish cleaning up the engine bay and finish my fuel system (pics later).

    Cheers
    Blake

Very nice Blake, haven't seen you in ages.

Let me know if you need any parts for the 4a

We'll have to catch up some time when I get this thing going again, Dave keeps coming into my work asking for parts we don't have, lol
I think I'm pretty good for parts, there isn't really much left to do other than sort out the exhaust and the wiring.

    Anyway, Updates:

Fuel System is pretty much done, thinking about making a shonky sheet metal cover for it all though, I also have a feeling that its going to be rediculously loud.

Oh, and we put the engine in and sorted out the Heater/Radiator Hoses

    <div align='center'>[attachment=23149:Engine_0..._Medium_.jpg]</div>

I'm trying to decide whether or not to get a new oil cooler or just use adapters in the hose, the cooler I have is very small (one loop) and has 5/16" fittings, which don't suit the fittings on the engine.

    I really like the engine......
Nah it was a failed attempt at getting some smaller hose onto the oil cooler fittings

Woohoo after heaps of headaches with trying to get it running properly, its going!
I'll try and get some pics of the finished engine bay up on the weekend once I've got a chance to finish tidying everything up

It feels really good though, its happy to rev, idles nicely at 1100rpm which I'll have to adjust a bit, along with a few other things, but I'm really happy with it
