    Default igntion leads

i'm about to service my car and wanting to get some igniton leads.

i have been to the big stores that sell car parts and accessories but they seem to be unsure of the right ones.
my car at the moment has Sumitomo igntion leads and the code written on the lead says:

    "Sumitomo 1987 R-16 X-E" what the??

but i dont want the same, an alternative, i been trying to do a cross reference but nothing comes up.

all i wanting is standard leads, my engine is 4AGE smallport

i'm confused. so if someone could help me that be great. i just dont wanna get the wrong ones.

Just go to repco/auto 1 and say you need leads for a 1992 ae92 (or ae93) corolla twincam 4age (gti or sx). As long as you state its a later model 4age varient it should be ok.

Just a warning they could cost around the $100 mark for the set

    It's really what they supply.

I know auto 1 stock topgun. I just had a look at their catalogue and it seems they make only for bigports. Still try both. Let me know how you go cause I may need some for my smallport in the near future.

i ordered a set from repco malaga, i said to the guy 4age ae92 DOHC 1600. so i hope it works for my car, if your saying auto one had only for big port i hope this one isn't. but anyways they had to order it, the order goes in on thursday apparantly so wont come until next tuesday-wednesday its on special because of price clearance, awesome, for about $64, normally $190. these are just standard, $190 seems pretty steep. so i glad there on sale for $64. i not sure of the brand he did tell me but i was asking questions so i forget, damn it. the reason there so expensive is because of the extension to the spark plug.

Small port leads are usually big dollars, from what I can tell this be because they need to be very small diameter to fit into the factory guides. As such to get decent leads they need to be of high quality to compensate for their small diameter.

those iigniton leads i was talking to you about last week, that i ordered were wrong. the extender thing couldn't reach spark plug.
i should have told them it was an import motor, but i got myself the right ones now,
4age 1.6ltr dohc 16 valve the brand is
-"CHAMPION" Steel ignition leads CH4464S $140 from repco.
i have tested them but haven't installed yet to make sure there right, i be doin service on weekend, but yeah they seem to be right. i just thought i would pass on that info.
