ball end is always a weak end of the allen key. quality or not they are not really designed for high torque.
sarcasm is a bit harsh.. u asked for ideas and he gave you 1, we dont know its a good quality allen key...
ball end is always a weak end of the allen key. quality or not they are not really designed for high torque.
if all else fails cut a groove in the bolt head and the allen key ball and get a screwdriver with some stillsens or something on it.
yeah apologies on the sarcasm.... but if all that was needed was a pop out, surely i coulda tried that first??
as for cutting a slit... yeah but the bolt if down a 3 inch tunnell..
and yeah the ball end is always weaker, but the rest f the bolts were not particularly tight.
not sure what ill do... i have managed to loosen the ball, but it wont come out without a lot of help. going to try aralditing the ball and key... see if i can .. pop it out

oxy torch.
Nah seriously if your trying to take your sump off why not take the motor out? Make it easier for yourself to get at that pesky bolt aswell.
Your going to have to replace the gasket now so why not do yourself a favour?
try hitting a small cheap socket over the bolt then undo it with a ratchet
this man....... i owe this man beer a plenty
all sorted boys n gurls!
