Tokico hts 102 installation

Hi guys,

I wonder how Tokico HTS 102 Struts fit into Stock Strut Case, because they are slightly shorter than ADM Stock Struts.

I dont see anyone mentioned about these shocks installation in stock struts.

Which way is a better way to insert it?

1) cut the strut case (How long must be cut?)
2) put spacers (which size to match HTS?)
3) any more alternatives?

btw, does any one running on TRD spring F 6kg R 4.5kg?
I found that my rear height is slightly lower than front.... how is it possible?

The most common way to do it is to shorten the strut a little and also use a spacer in the bottom of the strut. The HTS102's are somewhere around ~60mm shorter than OEM. How much you shorten the strut depends how low you want the car to be. Then the remaining space you fill out with a spacer. I recently fitted HTS102's to my struts, I shortened the strut tube by 40mm and then spaced the bottom of the strut by about 20mm.

I used a coilover sleeve kit which allows you to adjust the height of the front suspension. Are you using a coilover sleeve kit as well? If not this may not be suitable as you will need consider the spring height of the non adjustable set-up?

For super low ride height would you cut the sleave down 60mm? how low is it when 40mm's cut off?

I didnt have a coil sleeve kit, so what i finally did with mine was to spaced the bottom of strut by 6cm instead. I also equip TRD Springs F6kg & R 4.5kg, too.

This setting is very low with little clearance, so I decided not to cut the strut case, because Fr wheels may risk to sit inside fender & stuck there.

With normal height of stock strut case, I still having trouble when the wheels turn, the tyres scratch inner fender.

btw, I am running on XR4 7"wide offset +11 with 195/55R15
