    Default Knocking from camber top

Got this knocking in my front right coilover coming from the camber top nut at the very top. It seems to be moving about 2mm. It is very annoying driving around and makes me think somethings going to fall off.

I reckon i could fix it with another washer or something like that but I cant get it off because it spins with the shock. Was wondering if there is anyway to get it off without using a rattle gun cause I want to fix it at home because its easier. Or if anyone has access to a rattle gun and they can just loosen it for me. Let me know because want it fixed asap.

    Cheers Troy

Try wrapping a bit of rubber(ie a bit of old inner tube) around the shaft and using a pair of multigrips or vice grips to hold it. It shouldnt really knock unless the nut isnt done up properly or the bearing has flogged out. In which case I dont think a washer will really help.

Seems strange that the other side is fine but this one is knocking. Do they both have the same setup, ie, no extra spacers on the other side? Could be flogged out bearings as the others have said if they are both the same. Vice grips/multis and rubber will work to hold the strut.

Thanks for comments. Except dunno if blair is hating on me or actual trying to help but dont care. Tried tightening with spanner but just kept turning so tried the rattle gun at work and it tightened it more making the knock go. Realised it was something I did wrong. Thanks for help. Cheers Troy

    nah man trying to help

its what i used to get mine off in a desperate situation.

its like a oil filter removing tool, but smaller.

you pull the rubber tight so you have a little loop and then use the serated edge to make it really really tight, turning in the opposite direction to the nut! presto!
