    Default Anti Rust device....

I'm seriously concidering buying one of these but I'm not yet convinced they actually work. Has anyone actually used or had experience with one of these or something similar?

hey champ i work at nissan and see a heap of people running these kits that come into work. they all seem to work as far as i can see. my basic understanding is that it puts a positive charge through the body which in theory stops the oxidization ( bad spelling ) occuring. not sure if that is the same way that kit works. but basically from what i have seen they seem to work. hope that helps

htese havent been out for more than maybe 20 years so go figure out how they are tested?? best way to prevent rust is cavity wax on the inside of all the panels so no water will get to panel joins and hahve drain holes so water can escape
or fish oil that has been around since the start of cars!!!!!

The theory is correct, pretty much what SR_andy said. They would work, but on newer cars its not really going to be needed. Automotive assembly techniques are much better (since mid 90's) and its very hard to find cars that start rusting. Most cars in the 70's to mid 80's would rust within 5years (depending on the environment).

Cheap effective ways are to use cavity wax and fish oil as fast eddie said. Keep away from salt water.

yes. they do work. don't reallt see the point in using one unless you are going to strip the car back to nothing fix all the rust then keep it for 20 years. but i know that people that use them on fourby's that go on the beach definately see results. after seeing under a car that hasn't used one then one that has go one it's enough to make you wanna run out and get one.

Unless you buy a Falcon, I know a couple of people who have had major rust work done under the 5 year new car warranty (cars bought after 2003 that is). Certainly wouldn't expect it from a Toyota though.

guess its where ur preventing rust ? as some said fish oil is a good option, my panelbeater is taking my splash guards out and i asked him to put fish oil inside but he said downside is it will smell like fish for a month inside ur car, he said deadening does it fine.

Their are always going to be defects when manufacturing cars, mainly its rust that has started out with a scratch during the assembly of the vehicle. No one in my family (with 1-10year old cars - falcons and holdens) have had any rust issues, some of which live near the beach. As said environment also plays a big factor.

they dont work and cant work, look at "dans letters" for why. I have seen first hand testing and it didnt do anything more than make funny high pitched noises. Nothing quite like a back to back test with two sanded and salted panels next to each other.
