Default Do I need to use my brake balance adjuster valve thingy yet?

    The situation:
JDM diff/rear end, rest of the brake system is ADM. I have a JDM brake proportioning valve sitting here in anticipation of putting something a bit beefier on the fronts. I've noticed that the rear wheels get dirty from brake pad dust quite a bit quicker than the fronts, which is my (probably dumb) reasoning for asking these questions:

Is there an easy way (apart from locking up the brakes at speed) to tell if my F/R bias is "correct"?

What IS the correct balance F/R? (60f/40r?)

Pretty much trying to work out if I should install this JDM valve now, or wait until I upgrade the front, which could be a few months off.

    Thanks,
    -B.

The proportioning valve is different because the JDM rears usually run discs, assuming you have a disc rear end then DEFINITELY put the proportioning valve in. If you are still running the ADM prop valve its no wonder you're munching rear pads.

The ADM front's are exactly the same as the JDM's anyway, the only difference is they are wider to allow for the wider vented rotors. They require the same amount of fluid, pressure & bias as the JDM ones.

What does this mean and how did you even work it out? You must have put fluid pressure gauges on your car or something.

under your master cylinder you will have a 4 line splitter proportioning valve just take that off and pull it apart (take the sping and valve out of it) put it back and it should work.

The drums need more fluid than rear discs, so whatever you do, if you've got a disc rear end you need to atleast modify the prop valve if nothing else.
