    Default Airbox in AE86

Does anyone here run an AE82 air-box in an ae86, as I want to run one after i saw a TA22 with one although its a tight fit in the engine bay due to the ADM overflow/wiper bottle. I have separated the bottles from each other and got rid of the fat wiper bottle, although I'm not sure how the ae82 box would mount in an AE86.

So if anyone here has an air box in their ae86 please post up some photos, I don't really like the JDM air box I could get one but I just don't like it.

    Cheers, David

    Thanks yoshimitsu9

LOL WOW, I thought I was smart lol, I just did that like 3 days ago to get ready for an airbox in there, but I still don't know where to mount the coolant bottle. I had a look on the old forums I have found the thread but bugger I cant access the photos. When I put the Cressida washer bottle in tho I had to make a plate for it to sit the bottle further to the right.

If anyone has a photo of hopefully an ae82 airbox in an ae86 or from an ra65 I would greatly appreciate it.

    Cheers, David

Heard People using Commodore airboxes in the ae86, although there was one photo which I was able to access which was posted by "Wiggles" and this is it.

Although he does mention the AFM bolting up to it, but my smallport doesn't have an AFM so I'm not sure if it will work, also not sure on the Commodore series, people have said VN-VS but is that the one in the photo? and will it fit in and doesn't require an AFM to be bolted to it to work.

You guys might be thinking pffft you don;t need an airbox, I just want one to keep the cops off my ass also I want one ;p

    I would appreciate any help.

    Thank You

If you can find an RA65 being wrecker, grab the Airbox and the washer/overflow bottle combo (and the bracket it attaches to)
The bottles are easy enough to mount on the passenger tower - i cut a piece of aluminium plate, bolted it to the tower and bolted the bracket to the plate.

You'll also have to run a new bit of PVC tube to the washer pump (couple of dollars at bunnings) and extend the washer wiring.

The airbox will fit in without too much work. From memory, it only needed the lower bracket cut off, bend the back bracket to fit the existing bolt hole and bolt the front bracket to the rad support with a bit of steel.

If you aren't using an AFM, grab one of those pod adaptors and screw that to the airbox.
