i havent decided which toyota struts i will be welding these too.

depends on brakes mostly. i had planned to use xt130 struts (bigger stub axle, less KPI) but am beginning to shy away from the idea now.

all depends on which strut offers the easier and cheaper brake conversion at this stage.

it will either be the old toymods hilux/peugeot/xt recipe, or maybe some nissan 4 spots on 86 casings.

i have gone the nissan 4 pots on st141 struts. the caliper hole spacing is correct on the struts so on apaptor plate required. just a caliper spacer, i used the s14 rotors too.

was a bit tricky using the 86 ps arms and rca.....but i did it. don't ask how tho

yeah those brakes bolt onto alot of toyota struts from pretty much then on, i guess it makes sense if they use the same supplier.

i was having a look at ants SS works kit the other day, and if you do just a small mod to the caliper you can use pretty much a flat plate bracket, which i could make with an angle grinder and a drill.

i am not 100% sure the mod will work/be safe at this point, but I'm gonna have a ring around tomorrow to see what i can pick a pair of calipers up for.. that is pretty much what will decide it for me.

its interesting to note that the way you are doing those coilovers you can pretty much just cut the strut and weld that sleeve setup on. No spacers and no mucking around with the shock nut.

Ahh you make something new seem so easy.

well you may want a spacer anyway, depending on your ride height and what insert you choose, to get the damper in the right part of its stroke.

to be honest I'm only using these cos it saves me money! haha but once done theyll work just as well as a sleeve kit.

yes i think i have. gtst type m or some shit. I'm not up on my datto terminology...

the thread may come in handy at a later date i guess, ant seems quite convinced a 2 or maybe even 3 spring combination can really improve things. give me the ability to try that out with some more common spring lengths.

also gives me a wider variety of 2nd hand coil over springs to choose from. could probably run anything from a 6" to 10" spring.

    but yeah its alot...
