Polished the living shit out of it today. Still looks beat up, but now its beat up and shiny!

Im building a new loom with the expert help of my friend Beerhead (Brad), whos an ace with the wiring side of things. The new loom will have no solder in it at all. That means new plugs from Toyota, Ford and Holden, a new 2 metre Adaptronic loom, and a Toyota crimping tool will be required.

Ive put the loom rebuild on hold for a short time until i Have more funds available.

Im now focusing on building a new brake system to give space for a full airbox.

When Im done I might be able to run a fwd format airbox in rwd with no stacks, or maybe up to 120mm velocity stacks with undistorted filters.

Im basically redesigning a BMW system to work with a Toyota.

Some premium BMW models, 7 series, M# etc use a hydraulic pump to boost the brakes and not a vacuum assisted booster due to spacial concerns. I have spacial concerns too and I thought Id try it.

Basically you fit the booster pump behind the master and connect it to a power steer pump and reservoir and it should work. I may need to use some sort of pressure limiting or adjusting device to have it work perfecty but I know it will work. The lines even connect from the reserviour to the power steer pump with the original bmw banjo bolts. Ill need to have a couple of adapters made and the master cylinder may need sleeving to the correct diameter once its installed as the bmw masters run 2 piston diameters in each unit. The one I have seems to be 25 front piston, 19mm rear. I need both to be 20 -21mm.

Heres what the hydraulic booster looks like. Its only 2 inches round and the factory booster is more like 10. So i should pick up around 100mm clearance on the booster.

Thanks Marv. I like the setup too!

Went out with 08ftw this arvo and we had a lil photo session.

I also fitted the 2 sender system for the temp gauge. I can watch bottom and top hose temps with the flick of a switch.

thats a great idea, as you would be aware when your temp sender is mounted to the top hose and you lose fluid, it reads air, and is much safer to have at the bottom, but you have the best of both worlds, especially to see whats happening at start up!

havnt seen this thing in ages, but i liked its charm when you came round when ever it was. almost a year ago?

drives will be in order in good time.

Hey thanks again for all the positive comments.

Slydar the loom will probably be sold. I plan to leave it intact.

Beally, that was a long time ago wasn't it. For sure we will have to catch up. The car is totally different now. I think since then Ive done the brakes, the diff, the quaife rack, the jdm box, the braces and the seat.

It was more or less a stocker on cutties with monroed up coilovers at that time.

The 2 sender system I like very much. Its very interesting watching how the temp difference varies depending on how quick you are moving, how hot it is, and the kind of rpm I'm doing. Hopefully if I end up with air in there it won't affect the sender too much. Ive got it fairly low down as close to the thermostat outlet as possible. Its probably got to drop 3 inches in the radiator before its in air alone.

Ive lost a radiator cap while driving twice now and with the way the cooling system flows with the Yager thermo kit I need all the warning I can get. It takes about 3 minutes to expel all its water if the radiator cap is off!
