Default small port computer - big port engine diagnostics

I have recently bought anothe r86 and I have had the engine check light come on when I shorted out the te1 and e1 in ther diagnostics it came up with three fault codes.
now I know the engine is a bigport but it seems to me the computer is a small port one because the codes 41 51 & 52 came up (no knock sensor in bigport and the A/C has been half unplugged as there is no compressor)

    does that sound about right?

    codes coming up are
    41 Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).
    51 Switch Condition Signal.
    52 Knock Control Signal

How many pins are on each plug of the ecu?

The late model bigports found on ae92's have a funky sort of knock sensor, and have the same ecu plugs as early bigports but the ecu's are not compatible....
