Diagnostics codes on ADM cluster..

Hey guys ive got a 4agte in my adm sprinter , was wondering how does one check for error codes on his engine/ecu if there is no check engine light on the adm cluster ?? or is there one and i am blind ?

There was never a 4Agte, and it didn't come in a adm Sprinter. So you have a custom setup, and you havn't mentioned what ECU it is. Even so, it depends who wired it up. Obviously you just have to put a light in some random place in the cabin, then spend a week with a wiring diagram hooking it up.

Sorry mate i didnt make myself clear... I had a 4agze motor in my ae86 when i bought it, i converter to turbo last year, running standard ecu AFM electrics etc...

What i have found out now the standard adm cluster doesnt have a check engine light so with my 4agze loom i cant check for diagnositc codes with my engine/ecu when i bridge out t e1 terminals. The adm engine was an 4ac which wouldnt of used an ecu so therefore check engine light wasnt needed ? thats all i needa no..

You need a wiring diagram from a 4A-GZE car.

But a wiing diagram of another Toyota, and the 4A-GZE pinouts should be enough to go on.

yer or is it possible to connect the jdm cluster to obtain the check engine light?

You have a custom car.
You don't even have a AE86 ECU.
Plugging in the jdm cluster is not magicaly going to give you the light, because it probably won't be wired up.

You need a smart person, and a wiring diagram etc...

Find which pin the check engine light is on. Take the cover off your ecu and it should list it on the pcb on the body harness plug of the ecu. The code printed on the pcb for the check engine light should be W and should be a white wire.

To wire up use a test lamp, connect one end of lamp to 12V and the other end to the check lamp pin out on body harness plug. This will get your check light working.
