Question Will a speedo read higher on smaller wheeles or otherway around ?

    Hey guys,

I have AE92 with 14 inch wheels with low profiles.
I was wondering if my speedo is more then likely to read higher on the dash, but I'm actually going slower ? or is it other way around ?

    think about it

your car is moving the same distance and smaller wheels will take a shorter distance to move a full 360degrees.

this means at a true 80km/h your smaller wheels will be spinning faster than the larger diameter.

this means that with smaller wheels than standard your speedo will be reading higher than you actually will be going

the smaller the wheel the further and faster it must travel to travel the same distance and at the same speed as a wheel with greater diameter.

Also known as the rolling circumference
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?

Nope, diameter is diameter, circumference is circumference, they are different

well there is a way to find out if your wheel size is the same size as your standards.

but i forget the maths behind it lol

a 205/60/R14 is the same rolling size as a 205/50/R15 if that makes any sence.
hence why larger wheels have lower profile tyres
