Hey guys sometimes my car wont go into 2nd this happend 70% of the time and the 100% of the time it will go in after the third attempt but when your trying pace around some twisties it fustrating.
I know its my Syncros and I'm getting my gearbox rebuilt but is there any oil i can treat it with for the time being so it stops?
i just overcame the exactly same problem man.
took gearbox apart to find selector fork was burred on edges and obviously syncro replace.
no real soln for now until attack it
ps. i found wuld engage 2nd only on downshift. so on accel give it some boot in first then select 3rd for now
You can try some Redline Lightweight Shockproof gearbox oil, good stuff but its pretty $$ though! Prob better of saving the cash to get it fixed.
If you haven't already tried, double de clutching might help in the mean time.

but ay damo46 what are you doing to the actual box in the rebuilt and how muchy.. would be curious myslef or just buying a good 2nd hand t50
i think its around $900, but thats full gearbox rebuild + instal a clutch and flywheel and some other diff work..
just get a 2nd hand box and slap it in then you can rebuild yours at your leisure without your car being off the road
just don't "schnappp" it so hard lol
if its a brand new/recod box run some kind of fully synthetic oil
